Share Savings Accounts
 

The basic savings account, a share account, earns higher dividends than similar passbook accounts offered by many financial institutions. Dividends are paid each quarter are calculated on the average daily balance and compounded on the last calendar day each month.

In order to earn dividends, and maintain membership, you must have a minimum share savings balance of $5.00. Deposits to your share savings account may be made in person, through a Transfund ATM machine within the State of Oklahoma, by mail or automatically through direct payroll deposit.

Dormant fee $5.00 per month.

Money Market Share Draft Accounts

                                    Our money market share draft accounts are a great way to save money and earn more interest on a high share balance! This account is      limited to six withdrawals or transfers to another account or to a third party by means of preauthorized transfer or automatic transfer.

Silver Schooner Club
A Special club for members over 55 years young.

This account entitles the member to a host of discounts on financial services. To join, a member must open a regular share draft checking account and sign up for direct deposit. If a member is not eligible for direct deposit, they must have an IRA or Term Share Certificate to qualify.

Sooner Teen Club
(ages 13-17 years old)

An account with a minimum share deposit of $5.00 allows Sooner Teens to earn interest with no monthly service charge. We also offer a free checking account with 50 FREE basic checks at the opening (a qualified guardian is required). This account must be tied to the guardian account for overdraft protection. The purpose of this account is to teach teenagers how to maintain a share draft checking account.                                                              Membership Application

Lil’ Boomer Club
(ages birth to 12 years old)

This is a savings account for the Lil Boomers’ with a minimum deposit of $5.00 that earns interest with no service charge. With each new account, the Lil’ Boomer will be given a OU Credit Union "Piggy Bank" to teach them how to save money until they can make their deposit. The first $100.00 balance will be rewarded with a FREE gift. The Lil’ Boomer member will receive a birthday card every year. Fun activities are scheduled throughout the year for their education and enjoyment!

IRA, Roth IRA, and Coverdell Education Savings

The dividends you earn on an IRA are tax deferred until you begin withdrawing funds at retirement. If it is a Roth account, you never pay taxes on the dividends earned. If you meet certain income requirements, you can even deduct your Traditional IRA annual contributions. You may make contributions up to your limit through out the year, or we can arrange regular automatic deposits from your share or share draft checking account, or through payroll deduction. You can begin distributions any time after age 59 1/2. The Credit Union also offers 182-day, 365-day and longer-Term Share Certificate programs for higher dividend earnings. Dividends are paid at maturity and applied to your term share balance. Minimum balance requirements are $5.00 for the IRA and Roth Shares, $1,000.00 for the Term Share Certificates.

Share Term Certificate

CDs offer a guaranteed dividend rate for the term you choose, for 182 days, 365 days or longer. A low $1,000.00 minimum balance means you don’t have to tie up large sums of money to earn higher dividends. Dividends can be deposited directly into your share savings account, share draft checking account or be directly mailed to you.
